Module: Introductory
Course description
In this course participants develop algorithmic thinking and acquire basic programming skills. They acquire knowledge in structured and object-oriented programming. The course equips them to build console applications and to solve algorithmic problems. The content covers variables, conditional constructs, loops and methods. It goes on to cover arrays, lists and the fundamentals of object-oriented programming (classes, objects, encapsulation). Exception handling and code debugging are also introduced. In addition, participants are introduced to the basics of client-server architecture and HTTP communication.
Weekly class hours: 2 hours of lectures and 3 hours of practical exercises.
